Vision As Seen From the heart

Welcome to my Personal Page! Although I can no longer see with my eyes, I can, now, see more clearly from my heart.
In this year's vision 5K, I will run my first road race as a blind person. I will also captain my own team called, "sight unseen."
As a newly blind adult, who lost their vision suddenly, and in a most tragic way, I have benefited from the training I received at the Carroll center for the Blind. this training has allowed me, and hundreds of others, to rebuild our lives and reclaim our self esteem and independence.

The Carroll center is one of four co-sponsors of the vision 5K Walk/run. this event allows visually impaired consumers to explore our physical prowess and competitive spirits. in addition to the Carroll Center, the Vision 5K raises awareness and funding for three other Massachusetts organizations . Together, these four agencies are working to raise funds to provide products, rehabilitation and services for thousands of blind and visually impaired children and adults.

The great works, that each of these agencies do, goes a long way in empowering men, women and children. When people are empowered, they become effective contributors to society.
As an individual, you can help by making a heart-felt donation. Or, as part of my team, you can help by recruiting others, making a personal donation and by bringing awareness to an important cause.
While most vision 5K participants are sighted, you will have the opportunity to walk/run alongside elite and recreational blind runners and walkers. Join the blind challenge to mentally see how challenging life without sight really is, let alone as an athlete!
