Welcome to my Personal Page! I have joined a very special group of people united to show solidarity with the blind and visually impaired. I am participating in the Vision 5K on June 20, 2010 and what we will do together on that day will show that vision comes from one place, the heart.
It's that time again. I am running again, my 7th time competing in the Visually Impaired Division. I will be running with my sons' as my guides! It is fitting that the 5K is on Father's Day as I will be dedicating my run to the best father and husband, Mike, whom we miss very much. I know he will be with me in spirit, as he always is, giving me strength as I face the many challenges of vision loss. The funds I raise will support the lifechanging programs at The Carroll Center, where I was fortunate to complete several and where I continue to volunteer.
This event raises money for four charities right here in Massachusetts - The Carroll Center for the Blind, MAB Community Services, National Braille Press and Perkins School for the Blind. These agencies are working together to raise funds to provide products and services for blind and visually impaired children and adults. Annually these organizations touch the lives of thousands of men, women and children and help them get much needed services to achieve literacy and independence.
As part of my team you can help me by donating money, raising money or joining me on the 20th to run or walk alongside people who are blind or visually impaired. To learn more about the event, please check out the Vision 5K website
I need your support, so please do anything you can.
Thanks in advance for sharing my Vision! Together, we will change the way we see things.
